Governor Siminalayi Fubara has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to unlocking the economic potential of Rivers State’s coastal communities with an inspection of the 13.5-kilometre Oyorokoto Road in Andoni Local Government Area.
The road, designed to link the famous Oyorokoto community to the newly discovered Atlantic beaches and the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, is set to open up vast opportunities within the blue economy. The governor emphasized that the project will harness the area’s pristine, bustling beaches to promote tourism, create jobs, and strengthen the state’s economy.
Governor Fubara also visited the construction site of the river-crossing bridge to Epellema along the Kalaibiama Epellema Road. The bridge, when completed, will connect riverine communities, ease movement, and boost trade and social interaction across the region.
Both projects, he noted, reflect a clear vision to expand infrastructure, stimulate economic growth, and enhance prosperity for the people of Rivers State through sustainable development along its coastal corridor.
