Hon. Godson Odiniya, father of BBNaija Season 8 winner Ilebaye Odiniya, has spoken about an Ilebaye father dispute involving claims of money request, family expectations, and public reactions.

He shared his account in an audio recording posted on social media by journalist Jeremiah Promise Enemona Ocheme. The recording has since gained attention online and sparked mixed reactions.

Odiniya said he asked Ilebaye for financial help before a planned medical trip to Dubai. He explained that he needed a temporary loan because expected funds had not arrived on time.

He claimed his daughter told him she did not have money at the time.

“The most recent one that I was not happy about was when I was supposed to go for a medical check-up in Dubai,” he said. “I told my daughter to borrow me some money. She said she doesn’t have money.”

He also said he later saw her spending money at a friend’s wedding. He mentioned the wedding of her colleague known as Cross, where she reportedly sprayed bundles of cash.

“A week before that, I saw my daughter spraying bundles of money at Cross’s wedding,” he said.

Odiniya said he was not against her supporting friends or colleagues. However, he said he expected support within the family as well, especially in times of need.

“If you help your colleagues, what about your father?” he asked during the recording.

The comments have added more attention to the ongoing Ilebaye father dispute, which has drawn public debate on family responsibilities, celebrity lifestyles, and financial expectations.

The development also comes after reports that Odiniya was arrested over an alleged assault involving his daughter. The incident reportedly happened at their residence in Royal Anchor Estate, Wuye, Abuja.

A viral video from the incident also circulated online. It showed Ilebaye in tears with visible injuries while calling for help, which further fueled public concern and discussion.
