Chelsea’s Jorgensen Set For Strasbourg Loan As Arsenal Chase Guimaraes

Chelsea’s Jorgensen Set For Strasbourg Loan As Arsenal Chase

Chelsea’s Jorgensen Set For Strasbourg Loan while Arsenal push for Bruno Guimaraes as both Premier League clubs prepare for major transfers.

Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen is close to joining French club Strasbourg on a season-long loan deal.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper has approved the move after Chelsea agreed to let him seek regular playing time away from Stamford Bridge.

Strasbourg manager Hugo Oliveira identified Jorgensen as his preferred option. The Ligue 1 club needed a new goalkeeper after Mike Penders returned to Chelsea following his own loan spell.

Jorgensen wants more first-team action. His chances at Chelsea remain limited because Robert Sanchez continues as the club’s main goalkeeper.

The Danish goalkeeper joined Chelsea’s pre-season training before returning to London last week. He now focuses on completing his move to Strasbourg.

The transfer also highlights the close relationship between Chelsea and Strasbourg. Both clubs operate under the BlueCo ownership group, led by Clearlake and Todd Boehly.

However, every transfer between the clubs still requires approval from all parties.

Strasbourg recently added another Chelsea player to their squad. The French side signed academy defender Genesis Antwi on loan.

Previous deals between both clubs include Chelsea’s permanent signings of Valentin Barco, Emmanuel Emegha, and Mamadou Sarr.

Former Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior also joined Chelsea. His time at the club ended after fewer than four months before Xabi Alonso became the permanent head coach in July.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have opened talks with Newcastle United over captain Bruno Guimaraes.

The two Premier League clubs are now holding direct discussions about a possible transfer. Earlier contact between both sides happened through intermediaries.

Guimaraes reportedly wants a move to Arsenal. The midfielder remains one of manager Mikel Arteta’s top targets.

An agreement has not yet been reached. However, both clubs believe negotiations are moving forward.

Arsenal previously made a £70 million offer through intermediaries. Newcastle rejected the proposal because they wanted a higher fee.

Despite the setback, Arsenal plan to return with an improved bid for the Brazil international.

Guimaraes travelled with Newcastle to their pre-season camp in La Manga, Spain. He remains focused on preparations while transfer talks continue.

Arteta avoided discussing Guimaraes directly. However, the Arsenal boss confirmed that the club remains active in the transfer market.

“We’re very active,” Arteta said. “Very ambitious in what we want to do.”

“We need to increase the competition internally.”

“We need to make sure we identify the things that we don’t have in the team.”

The Chelsea’s Jorgensen Set For Strasbourg Loan deal shows Chelsea’s continued squad adjustments ahead of the new season. At the same time, Arsenal’s pursuit of Guimaraes highlights their ambition to strengthen their title-winning squad.
