Osun election winner Ademola Adeleke says President Tinubu congratulated him after his victory and urges political rivals to respect democracy.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Ademola Adeleke following his victory in the Osun election.

Adeleke, the Osun State governor, disclosed this shortly after the Osun election results were announced.

He said Tinubu called him personally to congratulate him on the outcome.

The governor described the call as a strong sign of support for democracy.

Adeleke thanked President Tinubu for recognising his victory in the Osun election.

He also praised the president for supporting the democratic process.

“I want to seize the opportunity to thank Mr President. Mr President has called me and he has congratulated me,” Adeleke said.

He added that Tinubu’s actions showed his commitment to keeping democracy alive.

The governor also thanked God for helping him secure victory in the Osun election.

Adeleke said he never feared losing the election because of his strong faith in God.

The governor said he remained confident throughout the electoral process.

“I have a God who never fails. I have a God who never fails. I have a God who never fails,” he said.

He added that his faith gave him confidence during the Osun election.

The governor also spoke about his main challenger, APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji.

Adeleke said he expected Oyebamiji to accept the result and congratulate him.

He described such a gesture as a sign of political maturity and civility.

“I’m expecting Oyebamiji, even as a civilised person, to call and congratulate me,” Adeleke said.

The Osun election has now produced a clear winner, with Adeleke calling on political leaders to respect democratic values.

He also urged stakeholders to accept the outcome and put the interests of Osun State first.
