In a bid to stamp out all child related disease from the local government Area and the State in general, the Chairman of Ovia North East local government Area, Hon. Collins Osamede Ogbewe have charge parents, guidances and care-givers to join hands with Government and other stakeholders to ensure total eradication of Poliomyelitis and other epidemic from the society.
the council Boss gave the charge while flagging off the Polio immunization exercise for children between Ages 0-59 months at Ekiadolor primary health care in the local government Area.
In his address, Hon.Collins Osamede called on all stakeholders in the local government to ensure a continuous Enlightenment of the people through massive awareness campaign so as to equip the people the needed information in eradicating Polio from our society while stressing that the program have being paid for Government and it’s partners as so it’s totally free for all.
Speaking earlier, the health co-ordinator of the Local Government, Dr Erhunse, said the program is designed to enhance child survival and development as well as a reduction in child mortality as he appeals to parents and guidance to cooperate with health workers so has to make the whole process seamless as the exercise will last till 18th of this month.
