The Governor of Edo State Godwin Obaseki, has presented 2023, appropriation bills to the State House of Assembly.
The budget which is Christened, “Budget of Reliance and Transformation”, is estimated at 320.35 billion, a 69% increase of the 2022 appropriation bill.
Capital expenditure takes 192 billion while Recurrent expenditure takes 127 billion naira. Economic enablers and youth empowerment take top priority with a 56.1 billion naira budget proposal which was closely followed by Road and transportation with 54.9 billion.
Responding, The Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly described the budget proposal as true reflection and Aspiration of the Edo People.
