APC Suspends Hon. Valentine Asuen Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities

The Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended Hon. Valentine Asuen from the party, citing alleged conduct deemed contrary to its constitution and core values.

Announcing the decision at the party’s state secretariat, APC Publicity Secretary, Barr. Peter Uwadiae-Igbinigie, said Asuen’s actions were considered divisive and against the spirit of unity, loyalty, and collective progress. According to him, the conduct undermined the discipline and cohesion expected of every member.

Quoting Articles 21:2 (ii) & (v) and 21:5 (a), (c), (d), (e), (f) & (h) of the APC Constitution (2022, as amended), the party explained that such infractions fall under punishable offences, warranting disciplinary measures, including suspension.

Reiterating its stance, the APC stressed its commitment to internal democracy and integrity, warning that no act capable of destabilizing the party or causing disaffection among members would be tolerated.

On allegations of lopsided political appointments, the party dismissed the claims, noting that all appointments made by Governor Monday Okpebholo have been fairly distributed across Edo State, including Oredo Local Government, without undue influence from the State Secretary, Engr. Lawrence Okah.

The APC urged members to remain calm, united, and focused on the party’s broader vision of good governance and delivering democratic dividends to the people of Edo State.
