The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewaure ll has appreciated the federal government for its commitment to ensuring that the two returned artifacts were handed over to the palace.
The monarch, Oba Ewaure 11 expressed his appreciation during a ceremony organized at the palace in benin City the State Capital to receive the artefacts.
This ceremony marks the beginning of the physical presentation of these rich cultural art works of the people of Benin Kingdom which was carted always over hundred years ago to the Oba Of Benin, Ewaure ll.
Lauding the commitment of the President, and others who work tirelessly in getting the possessor of these looted artefacts to see to their returned to its place of origin, the monarch said the people of Edo will eternally grateful to the federal government.
On their Part, the Representative of the President and the Director-General of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments, noted that Benin Kingdom possess a high level of Cultural and historical value as well as the heritage of his people.
Reason the Government left no stone unturned in ensuring the returned of those Artefact as he said it was just the beginning of the returns of looted Artefact back it’s Place of Origin.
