
The Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki has charged the Nigerian female cricket team to come home victorious.
Gov. Obaseki was addressing the players and technical team who paid a courtesy call on him Tuesday evening at governments house Benin City.
The national female cricket team was led by the Edo State chairman and immediate past Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) Vice President, Mr Uyi Akpata.
Mr Akpata was reported to have inform the governor of the team camping in Edo state against the upcoming cricket world cup qualifiers to be hosted by Botswana in September 2021.
Mr Uyi also enumerated the progress of the game so far in Edo State.
Gov. Obaseki in a respond to Mr Uyi Akpata sought collaboration with NCF to host international cricket competition in Edo State.
The governor promised to support the team as well as develop more cricket facilities in the State.
