Governor Okpebholo Ramps Up Surveillance After Alleged Bandit Video Emerges

A circulating video purportedly showing a self-acclaimed bandit making threats around Ekpoma has prompted immediate intervention from the Edo State Government. Governor Monday Okpebholo, fully briefed on the situation, convened a critical security meeting to evaluate and bolster ongoing operations.

Under his leadership, Edo State has expanded surveillance coverage across key highways and communities, including the Ekpoma–Uromi road, Ehor–Iruekpen zone, and major expressways connecting parts of Edo Central and beyond. These efforts focus on early detection and rapid response to criminal activities.

Following the Governor’s latest orders, multiple security agencies have begun intensified field operations. Patrols, intelligence-led missions, and forest combing exercises are underway, yielding meaningful results such as arrests tied to recent security incidents.

The Government assures the public that these enhanced operations will persist until all parts of Edo are secure. Residents are advised to stay calm, stay observant, and avoid sharing misleading or unverified materials. Governor Okpebholo remains committed to eliminating criminal safe havens and ensuring the safety of every inhabitant of the State.
