The Police service commission has suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari after US Court document linked him to a self confessed international fraudster, Ramon Abbas popular known as Hushpuppi.
Inspector General of Police in Nigeria Usman Alkali has recommended the suspension of officer Kyari to allow for an independent investigation of the allegations against him.
Hushpuppi alleged that he bribed Kyari to arrest one Vincent Chibuzor a co-fraudster, and according to the Instagram celebrity he gave Kyari money to apprehend and jail one of his rivals in Nigeria after a dispute of over 1.1million dollar scam on Katari business people.
However, Kyari denied any wrong doing saying he never collected any money from Hushpuppi.
Meanwhile, the self confessed international fraudster Hushpuppi will be sentenced in October this year and that’s according to US Attorney in the Central district of California.
The US court has also confirmed that the directive was issued to the US Federal Bureau of investigation for the arrest of Nigerian top detective Abba Kyari.
