The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) earlier today held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new 22-room office block complex.
The event was performed by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edoba Omoregie (SAN), who noted that the project is designed to provide office accommodation for lecturers who participate in the training of medical students. He emphasized that the facility would enhance their comfort, reduce stress, and strengthen already existing collaboration between UBTH and UNIBEN as sister institutions.
Speaking on the project, Director of Physical Planning (DPP), UNIBEN, QS Uhunmwangho Eric, explained that this is a capital project with a targeted completion timeline of six months.
Representing the Chief Medical Director of UBTH, Prof. Idia Nibokun Ize-Iyamu, the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee, Prof. Stanley Okugbo, expressed profound gratitude to the Vice Chancellor and his team for their support and partnership.
Other management team members present at the event are Mrs. JJ Oyakhilome (Acting Director of Administration and Prof Mrs Amina Okhakhu DCMAC Clinical services, Mrs M. Irhibogbe Head, Department of Physical planning among others.
