At the launch of The Living Secret: Endowment for Development in Nigeria. An Ogoni Experiment in Abuja, Peter Obi delivered a stirring message of hope and responsibility.
The book, written by renowned economist and former Chief Economic Adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo, Prof. Magnus L. Kpakol, presents a bold 272-page exploration of his FLO—Full Local Ownership model, drawing insights from the Ogoni development experience.
Speaking to a captivated audience, Obi emphasized that Nigeria has no justification for its poverty status, given its vast natural and human resources. He insisted that the nation’s challenges are not from a lack of potential but from leadership failures and entrenched systemic corruption.
Obi expressed strong faith in Nigeria’s ability to rebuild, stressing that meaningful change requires competent leadership and collective civic participation. According to him, dismantling the long-standing criminality within the system is essential to creating the prosperous and equitable nation Nigerians deserve.
He concluded with a reminder that a new Nigeria is achievable and that its possibility rests in the hands of every citizen.
