Artisans, market women, and traders across Osun State have thrown their weight behind Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, declaring their support ahead of the August 2026 governorship election. The endorsement reflects growing confidence among grassroots economic groups in the governor’s leadership and policies, which they say have positively impacted their livelihoods.
Speaking through their various associations, the groups praised Adeleke’s administration for its engagement with informal sector workers and commitment to inclusive governance. They described the governor as a leader who understands the daily struggles of traders and artisans and has shown willingness to listen and respond to their concerns.
Alongside the endorsement, the associations issued a strong appeal to the Federal Government, calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to urgently release the local government allocations reportedly withheld from Osun State. They warned that continued delay in releasing the funds could hinder development at the grassroots level, where local councils play a critical role in supporting markets, small businesses, and community infrastructure.
