The Edo State Security Network has been restructured for enhanced efficiency and safety, following the lifting of its suspension. The Commander of the Edo State Security Corps announced that the suspension, which was imposed in September 2024, has been lifted to fortify the security of the state
During the handover process, a list of 11,098 security personnel was presented to the commander. However, the commander has not yet signed the list due to uncertainty regarding the current status of the individuals on the list. To address this concern, the commander initiated a re-evaluation and re-profiling exercise to ascertain the actual strength, composition, and deployment of the personnel.
Re-profiling Process
Edo South: Tuda Tobar, Coordinator, will manage the profiling process.
Edo North: Mr. Agbor has been assigned to carry out the exercise.
Edo Central: DSP Patrick Oriaghe will oversee the process, particularly in Esan North East Local Government Area.
The profiling process requires all personnel to report in full uniform, with their identification cards and firearms. Firearms will be assigned unique identification codes, linked to the respective officer’s name, photograph, and other relevant details.
The ultimate goal of this restructuring is to ensure Edo State becomes a safer place, where residents can sleep peacefully. The commander emphasized that security is essential for development, and this exercise is critical to creating an environment conducive to growth and progress.
