Rivers Deputy Governor Crosses Over to APC After Governor Fubara’s Move

Political realignments continue to reshape Rivers State as Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu has officially dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Odu completed her registration into the APC at her ward in Akabuka town, Ward 8, Unit 11, in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area. The exercise attracted party supporters who gathered to witness the high-profile defection.

Moments after registering, the deputy governor broke into the popular song “On Your Mandate We Shall Stand,” a chant widely associated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, sparking excitement among APC faithful at the venue.

Her defection comes just weeks after Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, made a similar move to the APC. Fubara’s switch followed his meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, a development that signaled a major political shift in the state.

With both the governor and his deputy now aligned with the ruling party at the centre, the political landscape in Rivers State appears set for a significant transformation.
