PDP Chieftain Daniel Orbih Dies, Family Mourns ‘Painful Loss’

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Daniel Osi Orbih, has died.

Orbih, who was reportedly an ally of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026.

His death was announced by the Orbih family in a statement signed by Francis Udukhomoi Orbih, Esq., on behalf of the family.

The family described the loss as deeply painful, saying the announcement was made with “profound sadness and a heavy heart” while remaining in total submission to the will of Almighty God.

According to the statement, Orbih is survived by his wife, Mrs Florence Orbih; his children, Ms Winifred Anwosiobor Orbih and Dr Mildred Omonemi Orbih; as well as his brothers, sisters and other members of the extended family.

The family appealed to relatives, friends and well-wishers to keep them in their prayers as they mourn the death and come to terms with the loss of their loved one.

“At this difficult time, we ask family members, friends and well-wishers to remember the entire family in their prayers as we mourn this painful loss,” the statement said.

The family added that further details concerning the burial and funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
