Governor Okpebholo hails Alimikhena coronation as Okumagbe of Uwanno and urges unity, peace and development across the kingdom.

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has congratulated Senator Francis Asekhame Alimikhena on his coronation as the Okumagbe of Uwanno Kingdom.

Governor Okpebholo Alimikhena Coronation marks a significant moment for Uwanno Kingdom. The governor urged the new monarch to use his wealth of experience to promote peace, unity and development.

Speaking at the coronation ceremony on Saturday, Governor Okpebholo described the event as a historic occasion. He also praised Alimikhena’s long record of public service.

The governor noted that the new Okumagbe had served for two terms as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Therefore, he said Alimikhena was bringing valuable leadership experience to the throne.

“Your Highness, you come to this throne with a wealth of experience gained from decades of distinguished public service, including two terms as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“You have served at the highest levels of government. Your experience in leadership, governance and community development will surely be valuable in your new role,” he said.

However, Governor Okpebholo reminded Alimikhena that traditional leadership comes with a sacred responsibility.

He urged the new Okumagbe to lead with wisdom, humility and fairness. He also asked him to ensure that every member of Uwanno Kingdom feels included.

“However, traditional leadership carries a unique and sacred responsibility. As the Okumagbe, you are now the father of all,” the governor said.

“I therefore urge Your Highness to govern with wisdom, humility, fairness and an open heart. Please carry everyone along and ensure that no son or daughter of Uwanno feels left behind.”

In addition, Governor Okpebholo called on the people of Uwanno to support the new monarch.

He urged residents to set aside their differences and work together for the growth of the kingdom. According to him, unity is essential for lasting peace and development.

“I also call on every son and daughter of Uwanno to give His Highness their support, cooperation and loyalty. Let us put aside our differences and unite around the common good of Uwanno Kingdom,” he said.

Governor Okpebholo further stressed that the strength of any kingdom depends on the unity of its people.

“The strength of any kingdom lies in the unity of its people. Where there is unity, there is peace, and where there is peace, there is progress,” he added.

Earlier, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North Senatorial District, congratulated Alimikhena on his coronation.

Oshiomhole also commended the new monarch for his contributions to the development of his people and Edo State.

He prayed for God’s continued blessings on Alimikhena. He also asked God to grant him the wisdom needed to serve successfully as a traditional ruler.

Meanwhile, the newly crowned Okumagbe of Uwanno Kingdom described the coronation as a new beginning.

Alimikhena said the occasion marked a turning point for the people of Uwanno. He promised to focus on peace, love and development.

“It is a new dawn, an era of peace, love and development,” he said.

The new monarch also announced plans to establish a Uwanno Development Fund (UDF). According to him, the fund will help mobilise resources for the development of Uwanno Kingdom.

With the new monarch promising a fresh approach to development, the coronation has raised hopes for greater unity and progress across Uwanno Kingdom.
