Governor Okpebholo Swears In Three New Judges Frustrated by Obaseki Administration To Reinforce Edo’s Judiciary
Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the immediate swearing-in of three State High Court Judges-designate: Ojo Maureen Osa, Godwin Jeff Okundamiya, and Edoghogho Eboigbe. This ceremony will take place today, Monday, December 2, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the State Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Benin City.
These judges were part of the eight candidates recommended for appointment by the National Judicial Council in June 2023 but were left out during the swearing-in process in May 2024 by former Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration.
Governor Okpebholo’s decision aims to uphold the rule of law, respect the separation of powers, and strengthen the judiciary to deliver justice and fairness to the public.
