The Edo State Special Security Squad has recorded another success in its fight against cultism and kidnapping. Four Suspected Cultists Arrested in Egbaen Community became the latest breakthrough in the state’s ongoing security operations.

The operation formed part of Operation Flush Out Kidnappers and Cultists. Meanwhile, security personnel worked with other agencies to raid a suspected hideout in Egbaen Community, Ovia North East Local Government Area.

The team moved into the community at about 6:00 a.m. After receiving credible intelligence, officers surrounded the hideout and arrested four suspects without delay.

Principal Security Officer Saturday Okoh led the operation. During the raid, security operatives recovered several dangerous weapons believed to be linked to cult activities.

The recovered items included four locally made pistols, one cut-to-size gun, one Beretta pistol, and one machete. However, the suspects denied owning the weapons. They nevertheless admitted they belonged to the Aiye Confraternity.

Coordinator of the Special Security Squad, Noah Idemudia, praised residents for providing useful intelligence. According to him, public support has helped the squad achieve several successful operations across Edo State.

Furthermore, Idemudia revealed that security agencies received intelligence about a planned initiation by suspected members of the Black Axe cult group in Egbaen Community. As a result, officers acted swiftly to prevent violence and maintain public order.

Speaking to journalists, Idemudia said the operation succeeded because security agencies responded quickly to credible information from members of the community.

“In the early hours of Sunday, we received intelligence that suspected Black Axe members planned an initiation in Egbaen Community. Consequently, we mobilised our personnel immediately.”

“We moved into the community and arrested four suspects. In addition, we recovered dangerous weapons during the operation.”

“We appreciate residents for their continued support. Therefore, we encourage them to keep sharing useful information. Together, we will continue to keep Edo State safe.”

Overall, Four Suspected Cultists Arrested in Egbaen Community highlights the importance of community intelligence in fighting crime. As security operations continue, authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities promptly, and support efforts to improve safety across Edo State.
