The Peter Okoye Psquare Lawsuit controversy has taken a fresh turn after singer Peter Okoye accused his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, of trying to stop him from performing songs released under the Psquare brand.
Peter made the allegation in a video shared on his official social media page. He was responding to claims made earlier by Jude regarding the ownership of Psquare and the group’s business affairs.
The singer explained that the new legal action is separate from the ongoing case involving Northside Music and government authorities. Peter insisted that he is only a witness in that matter.
Speaking about the Peter Okoye Psquare Lawsuit, the singer claimed that Jude recently served him a legal notice. He said the matter was discussed during a court hearing, where an attempt was allegedly made to prevent him from performing Psquare songs.
“Jude served me a letter. We just had the hearing recently. During the hearing, the first thing they wanted to do was stop me from performing Psquare songs,” Peter said.
Peter also alleged that Jude, with support from his twin brother Paul Okoye, wanted the court to restrict his performances of songs associated with the Psquare name.
The singer rejected Jude’s claim that he was responsible for bringing Psquare to Lagos in 2005. Peter argued that the group had already achieved success before that period.
“In Jude’s claim, you said you brought Psquare to Lagos in 2005, so automatically that makes you the owner of Psquare. Psquare’s first album came out in 2003,” Peter said.
He added that the group had been making music for years before moving to Lagos. According to Peter, they had already signed management agreements before Jude became involved.
The Peter Okoye Psquare Lawsuit has renewed the long-running dispute among the Okoye brothers over ownership, royalties, and management of the Psquare brand.
Peter further claimed that Jude’s account of events did not reflect the reality of the group’s early years. He said he made personal sacrifices to support Psquare’s growth.
“I sold my car and paid for our first house. I still have the receipts,” Peter said. He also accused Jude of returning only after the group became successful.
The allegations have generated reactions from fans and entertainment followers. Many have continued to discuss the future of the Psquare brand and the legal battle surrounding its ownership.
Jude Okoye has not publicly responded to Peter’s latest claims about the alleged move to stop him from performing Psquare songs.
