A Fake University Exposed in Lagos has left more than 100 students and their families counting their losses after operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) uncovered an alleged admission scam in Badagry.
The NSCDC rescued 106 students during a raid on the illegal institution. The suspects allegedly operated the fake school from a three-bedroom apartment in Badagry, Lagos State.
According to the NSCDC Lagos Command, the operators promised students admission into foreign universities. They allegedly claimed applicants could study abroad without writing the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.
However, investigators discovered that the promises were false. Instead of a recognised institution, the students found themselves in a cramped apartment with no accreditation and no legitimate academic programme.
Authorities said the suspects allegedly collected as much as ₦1.5 million from each student. Many parents reportedly paid the fees because they believed their children would earn genuine foreign degrees.

During the operation, NSCDC officers arrested the suspected operators. They also placed the 106 rescued students under protective custody while investigations continue.
The agency said it would investigate the full extent of the alleged fraud. Officials also vowed to prosecute everyone connected to the operation if found culpable.
