Tears Flow as Gov Okpebholo’s Press Corps paid emotional tributes to late journalist Kingsley Uchegbu during a solemn memorial service.

Members of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s press corps gathered on Monday to honour Kingsley Uchegbu.

The mood was emotional. Friends and colleagues shared memories and prayers.

Uchegbu worked at the Governor’s Office as a correspondent. However, he died after a brief illness on May 6.

Chief Press Secretary, Dr Patrick Akhere Ebojele, led the service.

He described Uchegbu as a loyal friend and trusted colleague.

“We gathered to honour a brother and friend who touched many lives,” he said.

Dr Patrick also spoke about life and death. In addition, he urged members of the press corps to stay united.

Meanwhile, Special Adviser on Electronic Media, Paul Ezenwa, praised Uchegbu’s hard work.

He said the late journalist remained calm during difficult moments.

“He was gentle, reliable and committed to duty,” Ezenwa said.

Furthermore, Ezenwa urged people to live good lives and leave positive memories behind.

Government House Chaplain, Apostle Sule Faraday, delivered the sermon.

He asked mourners to thank God for Uchegbu’s life and impact.

He also encouraged people to value family, friendship and service.

Several government officials attended the service. They included Fred Oyabure, Godswill Inegbe, Bugie Okhuemoi and Jackson Monday Isangofon.

In the end, the gathering closed with prayers for Uchegbu’s family and loved ones.
