Edo State paperless governance gains momentum as Edo Cloud deployment advances. Government trains workers and prepares MDAs for full digital operations.
The Edo State Government is moving closer to full digital operations with the rollout of Edo Cloud, its state-owned electronic governance platform.
The Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa, shared this during a recent workshop and review meeting with Edo Cloud deployment teams.
He praised the progress made during the second phase of the project. According to him, Edo State is making strong progress towards a fully paperless public service system.
Dr. Okungbowa also commended the Monitoring and Evaluation Team for its detailed work. He said the team created clear steps and measurable targets to assess the readiness of ministries, departments, and agencies for digital operations.
He stressed the need for data-driven assessments to ensure a smooth transition to paperless governance across the State.
The Head of Service also highlighted the successful training of workers. He described the positive response from staff and their willingness to adapt to the new system as a major boost for the project.
The Managing Director of the Edo State Information Communication and Technology Agency, Eghosa Urhoghide, led the Monitoring and Evaluation Team during the assessment.
He explained that the pilot phase covered key areas such as staff onboarding, internet connectivity, power supply, hardware availability, and staff training.
Mr. Urhoghide said findings from the pilot phase showed strong commitment and competence among Edo State workers. He added that Edo Cloud is a major step in the State’s digital transformation journey.
According to him, current results show that Edo State is steadily moving towards full paperless governance statewide.
