Okpebholo Charges EDOGIS Staff to embrace innovation, digital transformation and strategic thinking for sustainable revenue growth in Edo State.

The governor gave the charge during a one-day workshop in Benin City. The programme supports his administration’s SHINE Agenda and focuses on improving the state’s internally generated revenue.

The workshop carried the theme, “EDOGIS Revenue Increase: Thinking Outside the Box – A Strategic Framework for Sustainable Revenue Growth, Digital Transformation and Institutional Excellence.” It brought together heads of departments, unit heads and senior officers of the agency.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Yakubu Musa, the governor said his administration remains committed to building efficient, transparent and productive government institutions. He added that every agency must improve its performance through innovation and accountability.

Furthermore, Okpebholo charged EDOGIS staff to adopt modern technology and global best practices. According to him, EDOGIS plays a vital role in land administration, investment promotion and revenue generation across Edo State.

He urged participants to make the most of the workshop by engaging with resource persons. He also encouraged them to apply the knowledge gained to improve service delivery and boost revenue performance.

In addition, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to supporting government agencies through capacity building, institutional reforms and digital solutions. He said these measures will strengthen public institutions and improve governance.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of EDOGIS, Dr. Innocent Bello, described the workshop as a practical step toward sustainable revenue growth. He said the training would equip staff with modern tools to improve efficiency and public service delivery.

Moreover, Bello encouraged participants to think beyond traditional methods. He urged them to embrace fresh ideas and contribute to the agency’s vision of becoming a leading institution in digital land administration.

The workshop also featured presentations by a banking executive and a strategic leadership expert. They shared practical insights on innovative revenue strategies, leadership, digital transformation and institutional excellence.

Finally, Okpebholo charged EDOGIS staff to turn the lessons from the workshop into measurable results. The event reflects the Edo State Government’s commitment to innovation, stronger institutions and sustainable economic development through improved revenue generation.
